Dr. Yelena Yesha - Co-Founder, Co-Inventor, Board Chairperson and Chief Executive Officer

Professor of Computer Science at University of Maryland Baltimore County. She has served as Director of Space Data and Information Sciences at NASA Goddard; Director of Applied Information Technology at the NIST; Director of the NSF’s Center for Hybrid Multicore Productivity Research at UMBC, facilitating public/private partnerships for cutting edge projects in data analytics and is an IBM Fellow for their Center for Advanced Studies. Dr. Yesha consulted with businesses including Valicert, Inc., Adoptive Trade, Inc., and Advantechnologies, Inc., from start-up through exit.

Dr. Eliot Siegel - Co-Founder, Director Chief Medical Officer

Professor of Radiology and Vice Chair of Research Information Systems at the University of Maryland as well as Adjunct Professor of Computer Science and Bioengineering at UMBC and College Park. Dr. Siegel established the first filmlessradiology department in the world and has served as medical advisor to IBM’s Jeopardy/Watson projects. He has served as consultant to Government and Industry on implementation of medical technology, and serves on numerous boards in themedical industry.

Anthony Deasey - Co-Founder, Director, Chief Finance & Administrative Officer

As CEO, CFO and COO of public (Church and Dwight, Celsion Corp. and Northwest Biotherapeutics) and privately held (World Kitchen, Rollerblade and Seguro Surgical Inc.) Tony has raised in excess of $100MM and successfully managed two exits. Priorto Church and Dwight Co Inc. (Arm & Hammer) had held increasingly senior positions at Unilever, Chesebrough Ponds and Price Waterhouse.

Chris White - Chief Strategy Officer

His career started in research at the Kennedy Krieger Institute in Baltimore and as research coordinator of the Stanford University SPNL (Stanford Psychiatry Neuroimaging Lab). He became fascinated with the intersection of technology and medicine through working with software for analyzing 3-dimensional brain data acrossa time series. This along with his exposure to the Silicon Valley start-up culture and graduate classes at Stanford would set the path for his future career. As Chief Development Officer of FEi Systems, a healthcare software company in Columbia, Maryland Chris was responsible for 25% year-over-year revenue growth for 15 consecutive years.

Ali Tinazli - Chief Commercial Officer - Fluxergy

As Chief Commercial Officer, Dr. Tinazli oversees all commercial operations, strategic planning, business development, sales, and strategic partnerships for the point-of-care (POC) diagnostics company. Before joining Fluxergy, Dr. Ali Tinazli led corporate-wide, global strategy for Healthcare and Life Sciences at Hewlett-Packard (HP Inc.).

Dr. Michael Mylrea - Chief Commerical Officer - Fluxergy

Michael Mylrea is the Director of Cybersecurity R&D (ICS, IoT, IIoT) at GE Global Research. Previously, he was a Senior Technical Advisor at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, where he lead cybersecurity R&D efforts, focusing on securing and optimizing IoT/ICS. Mylrea has 17+ years of experience developing innovative solutions for complex cybersecurity and technology challenges for industry and government.

Dr. Haibin Zhang - Co-Founder, Co-Inventor

Haibin Zhang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering at University of Maryland, Baltimore County. Haibin received his Ph.D. from the University of California, Davis. Previously, he worked as a postdoc for two NSF frontier projects on cloud security -- the MACS project and the Project Silver. Haibin is one of the main inventors of Norton Zone, Symantec’s scalable cloud storage, and BChain, a highly efficient BFT protocol fully implemented within Hyperledger blockchain framework.

Dr. Sisi Duan - Co-Founder, Co-Inventor

Dr. Sisi Duan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Information Systems, University of Maryland, Baltimore County. She received her Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of California, Davis in 2014. She got her bachelor degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Hong Kong in 2010. Dr. Duan’s research interests include security, blockchain, distributed systems, cyber physical systems (sensor network, critical infrastructure systems), and graph-based data analytics.

Charles Kaminsky - Senior System Architect – Lexis Nexis

Charles Kaminski is a senior architect for the technology department at LexisNexis Risk Solutions, a division of RELX Group. In this role, Charles consults on various lines of business and customers regarding open source HPC solutions and dataa nalytics to manage Big Data challenges. Prior to LexisNexis, Charles was the CEO of DataScout, Inc., a company focused on analyzing internet data to manage web reputation and security, and he also worked for Accenture in financial services, and for NASA in the Solar System Exploration Division.

Nick Tsinoremus - Director Computational Center – University of Miami

Dr. Tsinoremas is the Vice Provost for Research Computing and Data and Founding Director of the University of Miami Center for Computational Science which was established to catalyze intradisciplinary collaborations using computation. He also holds faculty appointments in the Miller School of Medicine and the College of Arts and Sciences. Dr. Tsinoremas received his B.A. in Chemistry from the University of Athens, Greece, and his Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Leeds, UK. Before joining the University of Miami, he served as Head of Informatics and Chemoinformatics at The Scripps Research Institute-Florida.

Jeff Dunkel

Jeff Dunkel assumes the role of NuHope CEO following his position as Executive Vice President of Strategy at TITAN SPINE. NuHope is a San Antonio-based outpatient opioid and pain treatment center focused on taper effectiveness, which specifically reduces controlled substance use in those dependent on opioids. Jeff volunteers with many start-up companies via pro-bono mentoring, which has been recognized by NIH. Most recently he has been nominated to the HHS Innovation Committee tasked with creating a better path for new technologies that will improve outcomes, improve safety and lower costs. Jeff actively works to influence healthcare policies and has been a sought-after expert to help draft language for legislation in the U.S. House and Senate.

Roberta Antoine Dressen - Partner – LFE Capital

Bobbie works with LFE Capital to evaluate new investment opportunities and with portfolio companies in director roles. She is a partner at White Rock, an advisory services firm focused on healthcare access, quality, and cost effectiveness. Bobbie has served on the senior leadership teams at Boston Scientific, Medtronic, United Health Group, and Allina Hospitals. She serves as a faculty member for the FDA post market surveillance imitative as well as on the FDA MDEpiNet Stakeholders Advisory Board and on the board of MHealth of the University of Minnesota/Fairview.

James Tcheng - Professor of Medicine – Duke University

Dr Tcheng is an interventional cardiologist. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Tcheng has performed extensive research, including the study of antithrombotic therapies in cardiovascular disease and biomedical informatics and information technologies. He has a particular interest in quality improvement; application of informatics and information technology to the delivery of care; and the application of excimer laser coronary angioplasty in the treatment of coronary artery disease.

Michael Morris - Radiologist in Private Practice and Seed Investor

Dr. Michael Morris graduated from Johns Hopkins University with his BS and MS in Molecular and Cellular Biology. He earned his MD at the University of Maryland where he completed his residency in diagnostic radiology. Dr. Morris is currently in private practice.
